Portland International Airport and Virgin America are favorites among business fliers, according to the results of Conde Nast Traveler’s most recent poll of road warriors — published in the magazine’s October issue.

Among carriers with business and first-class service, Virgin America finished first, according to results of a survey of more than 2,500 Traveler readers who self-identify as business travelers.

The San Francisco-based carrier, part of billionaire British entrepreneur Richard Branson’s family of Virgin-branded companies, was ranked especially highly by respondents when it came to meal service and on-board amenities and technology. All in all, Virgin America ranked first in five of the six categories that respondents were asked to consider. Following Virgin came Alaska Airlines — which received the highest marks for prices — and Continental, Hawaiian and Delta.

When it comes to favorite U.S. airports for business travelers, Portland International landed atop the list the magazine culled from reader responses. Portland had high marks for its location and the ease of making connections. Second on the list was Tampa, which also did well when it comes to snagging connecting flights. (Tampa actually edged out top-rated Portland in this category.) Washington, D.C.’s Reagan National was ranked third, though it took top marks for its location and perceived safety and security.
