India, the leading Asian destination for African outbound tourists, is
targeting Eastern and Southern African countries as source markets for
religious, medical and educational tourists exchange.

India, the leading Asian destination for African outbound tourists, is
targeting Eastern and Southern African countries as source markets for
religious, medical and educational tourists exchange.

Tanzania has been counted among leading source of tourist exchange
with India, as is South Africa, the leading African destination for
Indian tourists and outbound tourists to India.

Indian Tourism Office in South Africa is currently coordinating and
running tourism marketing campaigns across Southern and Eastern
Africa, aimed to attract visitors to India through an exchange
programs which will see Indian tourists flock to Africa as well.

Incredible India officials from Johannesburg are in Tanzania to market
India at the ongoing Swahili International Tourism Expo (SITES) event
in Tanzaniaโ€™s capital city of Dar es Salaam.

Manas Pattanaik, the Tourism Director from the Indian Ministry of
Tourism said Tanzania is among the biggest tourist source market for
India. Thousands of Tanzanians fly to India every year as medical,
educational and religious tourists apart from business travels.

Boastful of six major religions in the world, India attracts thousands
of tourists, mostly Africans of Indian origin to pay pilgrimmage to
holy places in various Indian provinces.

Pattanaik said Africa stands a target for Indian tourists as well, and
his office has been working hard to promote tourist exchange programs
between India and Africa.
North India is the leading tourist site with pilgrim centers and where
devout Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims and Christians converge to pray and
sacrifice for their Gods.

Tanzanian foreign mission in India has been lobbying for some Indian
airlines to offer direct flights as part of efforts to increase
tourist flow to Tanzania. Air India used to offer direct flights to
Dar es Salaam but terminated its flights to Tanzania 15 years ago.

Indian tourists to Tanzania count at 18,000 annually. Family tours
among Indians are the type of tours made by Indians visiting Tanzania
and East Africa.

At the ongoing SITES event, Incredible India is carrying out several
promotions also buyer and seller discussions and seminars aimed to
expose Indian tourism heritage to the event participants and visitors.
