On September 26, the international fashion world turned its sights on Frankfurt Airport where the worldโ€™s best up-and-coming designers gathered to receive the 2014 Frankfurt STYLE AWARD. This international talent competition has firmly established itself as a regular event in the global fashion calendar. The most promising young designers from more than 400 fashion schools around the world participated in this yearโ€™s competition. Some sixty creations made it into the final round. Fashion designers from Australia, Israel, Mexico, and ten European nations eagerly awaited their chance to shine in the limelight at the Fraport Forum at Frankfurt Airport. The 2014 Frankfurt STYLE AWARD was bestowed in three different categories under the guiding theme of โ€œUnited Diversityโ€. In the โ€œuniformโ€ category, the goal was to reinterpret classic standardized outfits along modern, border-transcending, global lines. In the โ€œunisexโ€ category, it was all about leaving rigid role models behind and designing clothing suitable for both men and women. In the โ€œunicultโ€ category, the aim was to come up with uniquely beautiful designs.

Quintessentially international, FRA serves as an ideal stage for the fashion business and creative new talent from different countries and cultures. The gala evening of the Frankfurt STYLE AWARD was inspired by this yearโ€™s host country France, which featured the โ€œBoulevard de Franceโ€ as an outstanding place to promenade. The guest of honor Madame Dominique Deroche, representative of the Pierre Bergeฬ Yves Saint Laurent Foundation, arrived in the Frankfurt metropolis carrying a spectacular prize and writing a new chapter in the history of French fashion.
