Bigger and better PHITEX for 2009
The Philippines is set to stage the biggest ever Philippine Travel Exchange (PHITEX) this year at the SMX Convention Centre in Manila on September 2-4, 2009. The premiere business-to-business oriented travel fair in the Philippines will showcase the very latest and best tourism products and services in the country to over 200 foreign buyers.
PHITEX is the premiere business-to-business oriented travel fair in the Philippines showcasing the very latest and best tourism products and services in the country. The event provides a unique venue for buyers from all over the world to meet with Philippine sellers and be introduced to a whole range of leisure and adventure activities, including resort holiday breaks, diving, glamping (camping luxury-style), birdwatching, spa and wellness, trekking, and golf. It takes place over a period of two days and is followed by specially-designed post tour programs and site inspection visits to some of the country’s top tourist destinations.
The Travel Exchange (TRAVEX) on September 3 remains the most important component of PHITEX. These business sessions will provide participants an opportunity to establish rapport and negotiate deals and arrangements with their counterparts. A total of 28 pre-scheduled appointments will be given each delegate for the table-top discussions. Considering the significant number of delegates, additional appointments may be set “unofficially” during the breaks and various social functions throughout the event.
The buyers will likewise be hosted to an experiential program organized by the DOT marketing teams. The familiarization tour for buyers is an integral part of PHITEX offering the VIP guests an introduction to the whole range of leisure and adventure activities.
