CHICAGO, June 8, 2009 – United customers may now relax more easily, as the final Boeing 767 (B767) in its international fleet has been upgraded with fully lie-flat beds in United First® and United Business®.

Customers traveling on an international United flight on a B767 are now ensured they will enjoy the comfort and relaxation of United’s new International Premium Travel Experience. A timelapse video of another aircraft – a United Boeing 747 – being reconfigured is available at www.youtube.com/uniteditstimetofly .

“Our customers have been telling us for many months how comfortable and enjoyable their travels have been with our new first and business class service,” says Graham Atkinson, executive vice president of Marketing and president of Mileage Plus. “Completing the reconfiguration of our B767 fleet marks a major milestone for our customers on the path to complete relaxation and comfort.”

The B767 with nose number 6463 took its first international flight as United Flight 958 from Chicago O’Hare to London Heathrow on Friday. Customers at the front of the cabin had the opportunity to sleep more comfortably in the new flat-bed seats and enjoy hours of their own personal entertainment choices on a 15.4-inch personal television screen.

United has completed 18 of 24 aircraft in its B747 fleet and will begin reconfiguring its international Boeing 777 fleet in September. The entire international fleet will be complete by the fourth quarter of 2011.

More information about these seats – and the International Premium Travel Experience – is available at suitedreams.united.com.
