Say yes to fun gear!
Stuff we're loving this week!
This is section of the newsletter where we drool over stuff that has caught our eye + want to share it with you. From tiny items with hefty price tags to substantial items that are a great deal, be sure to send us tips on stuff we all might heart. For travel in general, but particularly for a destination wedding, honeymoon, or romantic vacation with a loved one, don't leave home without a Flip Camera. The Flip, with fantastic video quality, instantly uploads to email + Internet websites, allowing you to share your special day instantly with loved ones who can't be there. Or it's simply fun to send folks back home a video postcard of your travels. Underwater housing is also available for about US$35 + it works wonderfully when snorkelling. The Flip retails for about USD$140; the Mino version is slightly more, but we believe the battery is a hassle to switch out. We prefer the older, less expensive classic Flip.
A large part of a wedding is the details, you know, tablescapes, floral, creative invitations.
Sometimes hauling or shipping items to a destination wedding is both costly + a hassle, so we were rather excited to discover solar party lanterns, which are waterproof as they are made with nylon, not rice paper. Best of all, there is no need to bother with expensive hanging LED lights or mucking around with electrical; simply hang the lantern + let the sun do all the work. These are new to the market, but Internet searches for Shojji Solar Lanterns will probably turn up some retailers/wholesalers in your area. US online retailer Crate & Barrel have them in stock + will ship worldwide. Tip: we tested solar lanterns from Ikea + much preferred them to the ones sold by Crate & Barrel.
