Swiss tourist allegedly raped in Pushkar
In the third such offence in a month, a 25-year-old woman tourist from Switzerland was allegedly raped by the owner of a hotel in Pushkar in Rajasthan.
The proprietor of the hotel was arrested and the woman sent for a medical examination.
The Swiss tourist had lodged a complaint with the police, following which an FIR was registered under section 376 of IPC and a police team was sent to arrest the accused.
''A Swiss woman has complained to police that she has been raped a week ago while staying in a hotel near Pushkar. We have arrested the accused and further investigation is on,'' said Anand Srivastav, SP, Ajmer.
The alleged rape comes exactly 10 days after a guesthouse owner in Pushkar was arrested on the charge of raping a 40-year-old British freelance journalist and a priest's relative held for allegedly molesting an American woman tourist in Udaipur.
