Hawaii Convention Center receives Chairman's Award from major meetings organization
HONOLULU, HI – The Hawaii Convention Center was presented with the Professional Convention Management Association’s (PCMA) Chairman’s Award on January 12 at PCMA’s Annual Meeting held in New Orleans. The Center was one of PCMA’s 11 strategic partners to have received the award.
The Chairman’s Award honors those that have made a difference in the meetings and convention industry or have contributed in a positive way to setting a course that will favorably affect the travel industry. The recipient is selected by the PCMA chairman of the board.
“Our strategic partners make a tremendous impact on what we are able to deliver to PCMA members and the industry,” said Nancy Elder, PCMA board chairman. “They make it possible for us to offer tools, education programs, and research that are vital to the success of PCMA members and our industry.”
“We are very grateful to PCMA for this award and recognition,” said Joe Davis, SMG general manager of the Hawaii Convention Center. “Our involvement with PCMA is extremely important to us, and we benefit greatly from the resources that they provide, as well as the many relationships that we have fostered over the years.”
As a PCMA strategic partner, the Hawaii Convention Center can optimize the available assets that each partner provides such as the latest advancements in facility technology and industry networking. Additionally, the partnership provides team access to the most senior level meeting planners in association, corporate, tradeshows, and independent meeting markets and additional exposure on the PCMA web site and at events.
