As being a prominent figure of global civil aviation, Turkish Airlines consistently continues to invest in vocational education-training by defining it as a building block of the industry.
Serving as the training hub of the global carrier; ‘Turkish Aviation Academy (TAA)’ was first founded to meet training needs of Turkish Airlines’ staff. But after a little while it started to serve to whole Turkey and also lots of global representatives of sector, as a result of the great performance that it showed in years. Today it continues to successfully offer a wide range of training courses within the industry.
Last year, Turkish Airlines Aviation Academy (TAA) successfully delivered 53 IATA courses to over 800 students in Istanbul, and it was recognized as IATA’s leading Worldwide Regional Training Partner for 2016. In addition to this, the Academy plans to deliver 40+ courses in 2017 also, by offering professional training and development courses to airlines and the wider air transport supply chain staff. Thus, aviation professionals from all around the world will be benefitting from IATA’s global vision and experience in the air transport industry and TAA’s expertise in providing innovative and pioneering training programs in 2017 as well.
In order to appreciate this successful performance of the Academy, IATA’s European Regional Vice President, Mr. Rafael Schvatzman made a visit of courtesy to the Deputy Chairman and CEO of Turkish Airlines, Mr. Bilâl Ekşi at the Headquarters of the carrier, and presented an award in this connection.
“The impressive achievements of the TAA highlight the organization’s strong commitment to developing the future of our industry by reaching out to the next generation leaders. The Academy’ role in the students’ success and in the promotion of IATA Training Programs in the region is crucial and sets TAA apart as a Premier Training Center.” said Rafael Schvartzman.
Accepting the award on behalf of the airline Bilâl Ekşi said; “This award is very important for Turkish Airlines who considers vocational education-training as the primary element of stabilization and success within the industry. I want to thank to our devoted TAA team, our huge family and also our sectoral partner, IATA who showed their courtesy by awarding our carrier in this regard.”
