Indonesia hosts World Ports event: Enabling Trade. Energizing the World

Under the main conference theme, “Enabling Trade. Energizing the World,” the 30th IAPH World Ports Conference is an excellent opportunity to share experiences and discuss issues faced by port officials globally. The Conference will discuss many strategic issues divided into several open sessions, featuring various topics such as Greenfield Port Project and the Effect of Special Economic Zone on the Port Growth, Port Hinterland Connectivity and Multimodal Logistics, the Evolution of Global Shipping Industries and Shipping Routes, as well as Indonesia Maritime Transformation. The program is designed to energize and inspire stakeholders in the maritime industry in tackling some of the most challenging issues facing the industry.

Indonesia Port Corporations (Pelindo I, II, III, IV) is proud to host the 30th IAPH World Ports Conference in Bali from May 7-12, 2017 at Bali Nusa Convention Center (BNDCC). The event consisting of Conference and Exhibition will be attended by some 1,000 delegates worldwide, including government officials, operators, and associations, who are experts in the fields of ports, logistics, shipping, and maritime.


For many years, Indonesia has played an active role as a regular member of the prestigious organization of International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH). It very much believes in the benefits of bringing the world’s port community together for this biennial event. The port authority hopes to share with IAPH members and port professionals its experiences to date as it develops and manages its ports and maritime business.

Bali has been chosen as venue of 30th IAPH World Ports Conference not only because of its reputation as a tourist destination, but also for its proven track record of hosting international events. It is an opportunity to see its boundless variety of unique sceneries as well as countless traditional and cultural heritages. It is highly encouraged that port executives and experts from all over of the world attend and exchange their views and experiences on a range of issues, challenges and solutions, as well as making and renewing network of colleagues, both old and new, under the fresh atmosphere with beautiful panorama of this world-leading tourist destination.

Previously, the 29th IAPH World Ports Conference was held in Hamburg, Germany, in 2015.


Established in 1955, International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) is a global organization of the world port community, represented by more than 170 ports and 140 port-related organizations in more than 90 countries worldwide. IAPH member ports together handle well over 60% of the world’s sea-borne trade and nearly 80% of the world container traffic. The biennial IAPH World Ports Conference is a gathering of professionals from more than 310 ports and port related organizations, in addition to academicians, consultants, contractors and media related to the maritime industry. The IAPH World Ports Conference serves as a platform for exchange of ideas among IAPH members as well as non IAPH members in the industry.
