On day two at WTM London 2016, responsible tourism was in focus, with masses of Responsible Tourism professionals all attending for the same reason, to be part of the largest day of responsible tourism action in the world, WTM World Responsible Tourism Day (WRTD).

Responsible Tourism Speed Networking kicked the morning off the 10th WRTD with a bang. In the afternoon, the Responsible Tourism Awards got underway, celebrating the most inspiring and enduring responsible tourism experiences from around the world.

Following the awards, we caught up with winner Dominique Callimanopulos of Elevate Destinations to find out about her winning project.

Women in travel…

This afternoon saw the Women in Travel Meetup get underway, now in it’s 3rd year the event once again proved a huge success. Both females and male professionals alike flooded in for an afternoon of inspiration, mentoring and networking.

During the afternoon, we caught up with Moderator Alessandra Alonso to hear a little more about the event.

Millennials in the travel retail environment…

What matters most for millennials when it comes to the purchase of a premium product in the travel retail environment? That was the topic in focus earlier today, when Hassan Mouheb and Kate Slaymaker of Nielsen presented their research based insight on millennials and their travel retail purchase habits.

Following the session, we spoke to Hassan to learn more.

Wellness…

Wellness was also on today’s agenda with the Global Wellness Institute hosting the Wellness Travel Symposium at WTM London. The event provided invaluable insight into this half-trillion-dollar industry and proved to be very popular with both seasoned wellness professionals and newcomers alike.

Following the session, we chatted to speaker Susie Ellis to find out a little more.

The best of the rest…

Down on the show floor the halls were again buzzing on day two as travel professionals from around the globe continued to meet, network, negotiate and conduct business. Here is a look at some of the best bits:
