Situated along 1,500 feet of sandy white beach on the south coast of Barbados, Turtle Beach is recognized for its prime location, fantastic service and varied all inclusive dining options.

The all-suite property has plans to develop its culinary offering further and go beyond the guestsโ€™ expectations of an all-inclusive hotel with the appointment of Chef Usavia Alfredo Batson.

Chef Alfredo joins the hotel with over 20 yearsโ€™ experience in the culinary industry, which includes launching Barbadosโ€™ respected La Terra Restaurant, working at The Cliff on the west coast of the island, and the Sandy Lane Hotel. Most recently he has worked as group executive chef for the Ocean Hotels Group where he honed his skills and developed a taste for adventurous cooking.

His work has taken him across the globe and his exploration of different cultures and local cuisines has informed an exploratory fusion cooking style. His plans for Turtle Beach include revamped winter menus, the introduction of a different style of Italian cuisine at the well-loved Asiagoโ€™s restaurant and experimenting with local ingredients to bring to life the true taste of Barbados.

Of the appointment, Sunil Chatrani, CEO of Elegant Hotels Group said, โ€œWe are thrilled that Chef Alfredo has joined the team at Turtle Beach. He is an incredibly talented and driven chef and we know that his new recipes will be hugely popular and that he will take the gastronomy offering at our ever popular all-inclusive south coast hotel to a new level.โ€

Chef Alfredo added, โ€œBarbados is renowned for its delicious seafood and for the abundance of fresh ingredients available. I am excited to add unique twists to the recipes Iโ€™ve designed for the hotel and enhance the dining experience for our guests.โ€

The appointment is in addition to a number of developments planned for the hotel during 2017, as a partial revamp of the hotel begin to take shape, with the introduction of a coffee shop, ice cream bar and a number of pop-up restaurants and bars serving local food and drink.
