Establishment of the first private Airline Company In Yemen

The national airlines company Yemenia and Islamic Corporation for Developing Private sector, affiliate of the Islamic Bank for Development, announced on Tuesday establishment of a company for internal flights “al-Saeeda” at a capital of $ 80 million.

In a press conference, chairman of General Authority for Investment Salah al-Atar said that the authority would offer all facilities to bring this project into success, saying that the project would improve transport sector as that would reflect positively on tourism sector.

According to the plan the company would start its flights by second quarter of this year by four planes. After three years, the shareholding process will be opened by the Islamic Bank for the Development. Al-Saeeda would operate one daily flight at least to all internal eight airports in the country. Five daily flights to Aden, four daily flights to al-Rayan Airport in Hadramout, and three daily flights to Hodeidah Airport as well as three flights to Taiz Airport.

An American company has prepared the project of setting up al-Saeeda Company. The company will operate local flights that will help the tourism sector in the country as well as encourage the and increase the movement of the local people between the governorates with its competitive prices.
