The captain on American Airlines flight 5123 flying currently from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Dayton, Ohio, is declaring an emergency.

The Bombardier CRJ-200 ER jet was flying at an altitude of 21,000 feet with a speed of 480 miles an hour when the emergency was declared.


American Airlines told eTN: “It was an indicator light reporting a possible mechanical issue. The flight landed safely, and taxied to the gate.”

AA 5123 landed safely in Dayton, Ohio, at 4:28 pm, 12 minutes late.
