No chicken from China, Malaysia Airlines says

By eTN Staff Writer | Jan 29, 2009

Malaysia Airlines has said that in the light of the Malaysian government’s indefinite ban on chicken imports from China, it has removed chicken from its in-flight menu for flights out of China, effective Thursday, January 29.

“Instead, fish, mixed seafood and beef will be served, depending on sectors,” the Kuala Lumpur –based airline said. “However, chicken will remain on the menu for flights out of Malaysia, as the meat here is sourced from local farms.”

Malaysia Airlines’ general manager for in-flight services Hayati Dato Ali said: “The safety of our passengers is top priority for us at Malaysia Airlines. This move is aimed at ensuring the comfort and well-being of our passengers throughout their journey with us.”
