DENVER, CO – United Airlines flight from New Jersey to San Diego was diverted to Denver International Airport Wednesday night over an unspecified “security concern,” according to a DIA spokesman.
The pilot of the United Flight 1243 diverted the plane to DIA and landed it safely around 9:30, out of “an abundance of caution,” the airline said.
According to the flight crew, a passenger reported “a suspicious item” on the plane.
According to the FBI, the aircraft was swept and after nothing was found, the all-clear was given. The passengers were re-screened and allowed to re-board the jet to continue to San Diego.
