ibtm china has ended on a high note with over 7000 appointments and 400 buyers from over 49 international destinations.

“In the past eleven years starting from 2005, ibtm china has become the only state-level MICE international exhibition in China and is a large and successful MICE-dedicated international show in Asia. ibtm china 2016 plays a significant role in building Beijing into an international MICE tourist destination.”

Packed education sessions, over 7000 appointments between buyers and exhibitors and highly popular Innovation Zone

ibtm china (cibtm.com), China’s leading Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings exhibition has confirmed high levels of satisfaction following the event which took place last week at the China National Convention Centre (CNCC) Beijing.

The show, which brought together a broad mix of Chinese, Asian and international MICE suppliers and buyers for two days in Beijing, reported well attended education sessions, some 400 Hosted Buyers from over 49 international destinations as well as 360 exhibitors from 26 countries, representing an increase in international exhibitors and the launch of the Innovation Zone, which made its debut at ibtm china. Lively networking functions hosted by Peninsula Hotel Beijing and China World Summit Wing Beijing, a Shangri-La Hotel also complemented the event programme.

Supporting this, Cao Pengcheng, Deputy Director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development (BMCTD) commented during the official ibtm china press conference, “In the past eleven years starting from 2005, ibtm china has become the only state-level MICE international exhibition in China and is a large and successful MICE-dedicated international exhibition in Asia. ibtm china 2016 plays a significant role in building Beijing into an international MICE tourist destination.”

Chris Yan, Director of MICE & Leisure Sales, Greater China, Melia Hotels International said of the experience at the show;
“The quality of Reed’s Events is always good. The quality of buyers is great and staff of ibtm china are very professional and helpful. We’ve been very busy from the opening of the show – great quality appointments.”

Pablo Sismanian, Director of Products and Tourist Destinations of Argentina, Instituto Nacional de Promocion Turistica said; “This has been an amazing show for us, to present Argentinian destinations to the Chinese market has been excellent – thank you!”

David Yang, Regional Sales Manager Greater China for first time exhibitors, Aeroflot Russian Airlines added “It’s our first time to participate in ibtm china as an exhibitor. We have a full list of business opportunities and wish a great success for ibtm china”

Terry Hix, Planner from Location Solvers who attended as an international Hosted Buyer commented “Hospitality is amazing. Everyone has been super accommodating. My appointments have been above par. I truly enjoyed my pre-tour of old Beijing and learning more about culture.

Cici Chen, Senior Project Manager, ibtm china concludes, “We are very pleased with the show this year – it’s been a great success. We introduced a number of new initiatives such as the Innovation Zone, which proved to be very popular. The zone was designed to give suppliers of innovative technology for the meetings and events industry a platform to showcase their products to the Chinese MICE industry, and it was a busy area of the show floor. We also saw some 400 Hosted Buyers attending from over 49 countries, as well as more international exhibitors on the show floor this year, reflecting the growing interest in the Chinese outbound market, and have received positive feedback from our exhibitors on the quality of buyers attending the show.

“The strategy for ibtm china when it launched was simple – to provide the platform for the development of the meetings industry in China and the immediate region, bringing together the inbound, outbound and domestic markets and that remains at the heart of what we do today. The feedback we’ve had to date has been very positive and continues to cement our position as a successful international MICE show in China. As a team we continue to be dedicated to developing and evolving ibtm china to meet the needs of the industry and look forward to welcoming you next year for another successful edition of ibtm china.”
