MIAMI, FL – Home to the world’s largest tourism industry, Florida is synonymous with beaches, international glamour, natural attractions and more. On September 8, the Florida Governor’s Conference on Tourism recognized Jacober Creative as an outstanding performer in the highly competitive world of tourism marketing by awarding them two Flagler Awards.

The South Beach-based design studio took two first-place trophies for their work for the Town of Surfside. One Gold “Henry” was awarded for the Surfside Visitor’s Guide, part of the 2015-16 “Simply Surfside” campaign. Jacober won Gold in the Resource/Promotional Material-Consumer category and took “Best in Show” in the under $500,000 budget category. The awards were for their outstanding graphic design, art direction and photography, which positioned Surfside as a destination for families and visitors.

“We’re thrilled to get this kind of recognition in a state like Florida, where tourism is a major industry and we are competing against serious players,” said Paul Jacober, principal of Jacober Creative. “Our bright, playful, upbeat design was both retro and forward-looking, sexy and accessible. It was one of my favorite projects this year, thanks to the hard work of our staff, especially art director Adriana Mazariegos.”

“Jacober Creative is a dream to work with,” said Duncan Tavares, Director of Tourism, Economic Development & Community Services for the Town of Surfside. “The campaign is gorgeous and is like nothing Surfside has ever seen.”
