It’s on the main boulevard between resort hotels on the popular tropical beaches of the Mexican Resort town Puerto Vallarta.

La Leche on Zona Hotelera Norteis a popular upscale restaurant frequented by tourists in the Mexican holiday retreat. According to the restaurants website, the owners of the restaurant promised surprise, contrast, difference, fun and exquisiteness.

Contrast yes, and surprises even more, but you cannot call it fun last night when 16 or more guests enjoying a tasty dinner were abducted by gunpoint.

Mexican authorities say armed men have abducted people from this upscale restaurant. Prosecutors in the western state of Jalisco say two SUVs carrying an unknown number of gunmen arrived around 1 a.m. at the restaurant on the city’s main boulevard, which runs through the hotel zone.

The Jalisco prosecutors’ office said Monday in a statement that it was still investigating. Five vehicles were abandoned at the restaurant, but it was unclear whether they belonged to any of the victims or attackers
