Hua Hin is a major travel and tourism destination in Thailand. On Thursday night at least 17 people have been injured, one woman died, among them at least 9 several foreign tourists, after a bomb was set off in the popular resort town of Hua Hin, a popular holiday resort in Thailand.

The bombs were hidden in plant pots spaced 50 meters (164 feet) apart, and detonated by mobile phones within half an hour of each other.

It is rare to find such attacks in Thailand’s tourist areas.
Hua Hin, a coastal resort on the Gulf of Thailand, is popular with foreign and Thai visitors.

Hua Hin is famous as the preferred home of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, and
about 145 kilometers (90 miles) southwest of the Thai capital, Bangkok.
