Earl upgraded to a hurricane currently threatening Belize and Honduras


The National Hurricane Center in Miami upgraded Tropical Storm Earl to a hurricane at 4:00 pm CDT.

A NOAA Hurricane Hunter aircraft just reached Earl and measured
maximum sustained winds of 75 mph (120 kmh), indicating that Earl
is now a hurricane.

The location of the Hurricane Earl is 70 miles or 110 km from Isla Roatan, Honduras, or 150 miles, 240 km of Belize City, Belize.
