SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Hotwire(R) announced today that Clem Bason has been promoted to president of the Hotwire Group, which includes Hotwire.com(R), Travel-Ticker.com(R), and CarRentals.com(TM). Bason, who will oversee all aspects of the three business units, takes over for Eric Grosse, who has been promoted to president of Expedia(R) Worldwide.

"Hotwire is a dynamic organization that delivers value to both partners and consumers alike," said Clem Bason, president, Hotwire Group. "I am excited by the opportunity to lead the Hotwire team as we continue to offer incredible deals on travel."

Bason takes over Hotwire.com, a leading discount travel site with low rates on airline tickets, hotel rooms, and rental cars. He will also oversee Travel-Ticker.com, home to some of the best insider deals at many of the world's favorite destinations, as well as CarRentals.com, which offers a diverse selection of car rentals.

"Hotwire has been a strong and growing brand in the Expedia portfolio over the past couple of years. Clem has played a key role in Hotwire's strategic planning efforts and has become a valued advisor to Hotwire's executive team," said Dara Khosrowshahi, Expedia, Inc. CEO and president. "With Eric Grosse's promotion to Expedia Worldwide, Clem was a natural choice to fill the role as Hotwire Group president."

Bason joined Hotwire as vice president of hotel supplier relations in February 2006, bringing deep experience in business strategy and partnership development to the company. As vice president of merchandising, Clem was responsible for retailing and led creative direction on the site.

Prior to Hotwire, Clem helped lead Gap Brand's strategy and business development group, where he was responsible for strategic planning and new business development. Clem also spent five years with McKinsey & Co., leading engagements primarily for retail, consumer goods, and online clients in the United States, Europe, and Asia.

Clem received an MBA from the Haas School at the University of California at Berkeley and a BS in Business Administration from the University of Delaware.

This company is out to get everybodies money it is very clear of that hopefully we can all stand together and bring this company down. I was on the phone with them from 5pm until 11:30 pm trying to make them understand my sons name was wrong and that he wouldnt be able to fly with his sister oh mind you they where going to bury their grandmother and all this company could do was lie pass me back and forth from one person to another. Wow what happen to customer service and people with hearts especially when it comes to children. Like some else said on here I intend to post this bad business everywhere is this worth the 598 that you could of gave back instead of losing hundreds or by the time on done thousands or oh it doesn't matter cause that's what your company does is feed off the underclass andy way.

Hotwire customer service is horrible. When I questioned their policy they cancelled my pre-paid reservation, left me stranded at the airport and kep my payment. I intend to live the rest of my life to tell everyone how bad Hotwire service is.
"Vaughn" in customer service is an asshole!!!

I arrived at the Miami airport 10 minutes after my scheduled pick-up time for a rental car. Hotwire did not like my attitude when I questioned a policy so they cancelled my reservation and took my pre-paid fee of $187. I ended up renting directly from National at a better price with upgrade and apology.
I disputed the charge as I had received nothing from Hotwire. They claimed it was a legitimate charge and I was forced to pay it anyway.
Mr Bason should know that in any organization "a fish stinks from the head down". His boy "Vaughn" in customer service does not know the difference between 12 midnight and 12:00 A.M. or P.M. I arrived at 12:10 a.m. for a 12:00 reservation. He claimes I was 24 hours late. It was pre paid!!!
Do not buy anything from Hotwire! Vaughn even told me that the president of Hotwire was "far too important to speak to me. That is why they have me"
Imagine being so important that a customer that needs help is insignificant or if they get upset they are stolen from. To hell with Hotwire!!!

Please let me know Mr. Basons e*mail
address as I have a legitimate complaint
on Hotwire and customer service has
not been able to assist me.

L Davis
