Mr. K. Ramakrishnan Ramu Pillay, the newly-elected Chairman accompanied by members of the 2016 Committee of the Indian Association of Seychelles, last week called on Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, at the Ministry’s ESPACE Building Offices in Victoria.

The Vice Chairman of the Association, Mr. M. Senthilkumar; the Secretary, Mr. G. Sivashanmugam Pillay; the Treasurer, Mr. Sunil Dhanjee; and committee members Mr. Jothinathan Naidoo, Dr. Velmurugan Chetty, and Mr. Manesh, alongside Mr. K. Ramakrishnan Ramu Pillay, the Chairman of the Association, used the meeting to discuss with Minister St.Ange cultural activities being considered by the association, and these included the coming 2016 edition of the Seychelles-India Day Celebrations, the social responsibility actions being considered by the association, as well as a Cultural Center.

Minister Alain St.Ange on his part said as he congratulated the newly-elected committee on their election that the Ministry of Tourism and Culture would continue to work closely with the Indian Association of Seychelles. “Associations such as the Indian Association of Seychelles are for us, cultural bodies and, therefore, merit the strong support of the ministry. It is by working together that we shall continue to not only defend the diversity that make our people strong, but we need to work even harder together to consolidate this diversity as this remains a strong unique selling point of our country,” said Minister St.Ange.
