Munich police are hunting for three gunmen who they believe carried out attacks at three locations in the city. So far, 9 people have been confirmed dead, although other reports indicate as many as 15 were killed. Munich hospital says at least 3 people were admitted after the shootings and are in serious condition, while several others sustained moderate injuries.

In addition to the 8 confirmed dead, a male body was found, and officials are trying to determine if the man was a suspect in the shootings.

It is also not yet clear if the shootings took place only at Munich, Germanyโ€™s, Olympia Einkaufszentrum shopping center, where an employee told Reuters that “many shots were fired.” Another shopping center employee, Lynn Stein, told CNN “masked gunmen dressed in black” were seen running through the center.

Other reports and social media are saying shootings occurred in three locations: Hanauer StraรŸe, the RiesstraรŸe, as well outside a McDonaldโ€™s restaurant in the Olympia shopping center. Police have confirmed only the shooting at Olympia shopping center.

It has been reported on social media that Islamic State (IS) supporters are celebrating, although police have not confirmed the shooting is an IS terror attack. One person tweeted that the shooters were yelling anti-immigrant and anti-refugee slogans, so the cause of the attacks are clearly not known yet.
