The Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport, today announced major investments for upgrading the airport and Cap-aux-Meules Harbor in the Magdalen Islands. The Government of Canada has committed to invest $26 million to maintain safe operating conditions at the island facilities. This investment is funded in part through Budget 2016.


Investing in local infrastructure is a vital component of the Government of Canada’s commitment to create more middle class jobs and grow the economy, resulting in long-term prosperity for Canadians.
