Third time’s a charm – Malaysia Air names third CEO in two years


KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Malaysia Airlines has turned to its third chief executive in two years, promoting Chief Operating Officer Peter Bellew to Chief Executive Officer of the state-owned carrier, after its former CEO, Christoph Mueller, quit unexpectedly. The appointment took effect July 1st, 2016.

Mr Bellew’s appointment “will ensure continuity in the execution of the turnaround plan and further progress of the overall restructuring effort,” Malaysia Airlines said in the statement.

Mr Bellew, formerly of Ryanair and Kerry Airport, is a travel and tourism industry veteran, whose experience includes:
