London Heathrow Terminal 5: Security threat situation in progress?

A security threat situation may be in progress at terminal 5, London Heathrow airport. At least all indications are there.

According to eTN Photographer Christian del Rosario who is currently changing planes at London Heathrow, thousands of passengers are stuck in the tunnel connecting to the terminal.

Christian came in from Bucharest and is trying to connect to a British Airways flight to Brussels.

People in line are nervous and some are aggressively demanding answers. Authorities was not been making any announcements. Passengers are clueless and don’t know what if anything is developing.

According to the eTN Photographer, business class lines are starting to move slowly, and he was able to clear immigration and security. The situation after passing security seems to be normal and routine.

A pro-ISIS twitter account has threatened attacks at London Heathrow, LAX, and New York’s JFK airports over the July 4 holiday weekend.

US security officials say the threat is not credible.

For Heahtrow airport officials to not inform passengers about such delays may cause confusion and possible panic, and unnecessary rumors.

The account said that attacks would be carried out on planes “flying from Heathrow [Airport] to the US” and warned that “there will be a device placed in either Heathrow, LAX, or JFK airports.”

It appears additional security measures had been put in place at London Heathrow causing long lines and delays for passengers to clear immigration and security.

The threat was revealed by SITE Intelligence Group – the world’s leading non-governmental counterterrorism organization – on its website.
