DFW International Airport expecting over 900K passengers for Fourth of July Weekend

DFW AIRPORT, TX – Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport prepares for another busy holiday travel weekend.

DFW AIRPORT, TX – Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport prepares for another busy holiday travel weekend. The Fourth of July travel period, which runs from July 1 through July 5, is expected to bring more than 900 thousand travelers to the Airport, an increase of 2.1% from the previous year.

The Airport is projecting 18.4 million customers will fly through the Airport during the whole summer travel period from June through August 31, an expected 2.4% increase over last year. To ensure a safe a stress-free experience, DFW recommends that travelers arrive at least two hours before their departure time, explore airport parking options, and take advantage of programs such as TSA Preโœ“ยฎ or Global Entry.


“As customers take advantage of the long holiday weekend, we’re glad they continue to choose DFW Airport,” said Ken Buchanan, executive vice president of Revenue Management for DFW Airport. “Whether they start their journey at DFW Airport or connect through here, our travelers will encounter a smooth travel experience with each terminal averaging two to three security checkpoints and our great shopping, dining and service options.”

To ensure a smoother summer travel experience, DFW recommends the following travel tips:

1. Download the DFW Mobile App to access tailored information for your particular journey through DFW, including intuitive wayfinding functionalities, interactive maps, custom flight information, and simple yet powerful search capabilities. The DFW Mobile App (version 3.2) now features seven (7) languages (including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese), news and weather alerts on the home screen, enhanced flight search with autocomplete functionality, an enhanced geo-enhanced “shops, dine and services” feature, improved parking information, activity suggestions for flight delays, Skylink locators, social media connectors, and overall improved offline use.

2. Park closer, faster and smarter by using DFW Parking. With Valet, Terminal, Express and Remote Parking options available, DFW has a choice for every traveler.

3. Speed through the security process by joining trusted traveler programs such as TSA Preโœ“ยฎ or Global Entry, available from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, respectively.



4. Pack lightly and remember 3-1-1. Security rules require that liquids in carry-on bags should be in containers of no more than 3 ounces, packaged in a one-quart bag, with no more than one bag allowed per person.
