THAI Smile Airways to operate Chongqing and Penang flights

BANGKOK, Thailand – Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) is transferring flights to Chongqing, China and Penang, Malaysia over to THAI Smile Airways.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) is transferring flights to Chongqing, China and Penang, Malaysia over to THAI Smile Airways.

Mr. Charamporn Jotikasthira, THAI President, said that starting 1 July 2016, THAI Smile Airways will operate daily flights with the A320 aircraft in place of THAI to Chongqing, China and daily flights to Penang, Malaysia as of 16 July 2016.


Moreover, the new routes in Southeast Asia planned for THAI Smile Airways include Surabaya and Medan in Indonesia, and Cebu in The Philippines. The transfer of flights to THAI Smile Airways follows the corporate strategic plan for THAI Smile to operate to secondary cities in ASEAN and the region, while THAI focuses on marketing and sales.

Currently, THAI Smile Airways operates to nine domestic destinations from Bangkok โ€“ Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Phuket, Surat Thani, Hat Yai, and Narathiwat.
