SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC), Ingrid I Rivera Rocafort, announced the company’s initiative to grant seals of approval to hotels and tourist facilities endorsed by PRTC. PRTC currently endorses 154 accommodations, which are inspected a minimum of two times per year.

“These new seals of approval will help visitors identify hotels and tourist facilities endorsed by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company,” said Rivera Rocafort. “Hotels and facilities that receive the seal of approval are guaranteed to provide visitors a fantastic customer service experience.”

The Division of Tourism Quality and Educational Affairs of PRTC requires hotels and tourist facilities to meet the following requirements to obtain the seal of approval:

• Permit Compliance
• Laws and Regulations Compliance
o Federal Law ADA
o PRTC’s Minimum Regulations for the Hospitality Industry
• Security, Hygiene and Quality Compliance

The seal’s design was developed by the University of Turabo’s International Design Center in Puerto Rico and includes the magna flower, Puerto Rico’s state flower.

“PRTC is committed to showcasing the best of Puerto Rico to both locals and visitors in order to continue fostering a positive economic impact on the Island,” concluded Rivera Rocafort.
