The 2016 US Travel Industry Summit for Nepal in Denver, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle

Nepal Tourism Board CEO issues invitation to American travel professionals and journalists

Jun 07, 2016

This is today: "We will welcome tourists with open arms."

This was in 2015: The earthquake in Nepal was not only a big challenge and a human tragedy in Nepal. It was a nightmare for the travel and tourism industry, an industry that generated badly needed tourism export, generated jobs and paid for improving infrastructure and the standard of living for Nepalese citizens.

This message started in 2015 and remains today: "You can help us and send tourists. We are open and ready for business. Our country is safe and beautiful."

The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, tour and hotel operators teamed up with eTurboNews (eTN) and organized a high level Travel Industry Summit in 5 U.S. cities: Denver, Phoenix, Los Angeles/ Long Beach, San Francisco and Seattle.

"Join our friends from Nepal and some of us from the eTurboNews team. Join us for lunch or dinner and participate in some serious discussions and education about Nepal tourism opportunities. Meet suppliers, government officials ready to talk business and inform. This event will be different from others."

"We invite travel agents, tour operators, travel clubs and of course media to get to know the new CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board Deepak Raj Joshi, the Joint Secretary for the Tourism Ministry of Nepal, Ghanashyam Upadhyaya , and the Secretary of Tourism Prem K. Rai, as well as key industry partners from Nepal", said eTN Publisher Juergen T Steinmetz.

The Nepal delegation comes packed with brochures, souvenirs and fam trip invitations.

The summit will be kicking off June 20 in Denver at the  Holiday Inn Stapleton East, continuing to the Hyatt Regency Phoenix on June 21, The Queen Mary in Long Beach, California on June 23, the Crown Plaza Airport Hotel in San Francisco on June 24 and conclude with a gala dinner at the The Westin Seattle on June 27.

Nepal has recovered from the 2015 earthquake and is open for tourism business. Nepal is ready to welcome visitors at the very top of the world. With rich, ancient cultures set against the most dramatic scenery in the world, Nepal is a destination of discovery and unique, authentic experiences.

Mel Webster, Media Spokesperson for the Nepal Summit, said "With highly specialized niche markets, Nepal offers US tour operators and travel agents remarkable growth opportunities."

Travel professionals and media attending the 2016 Summit will learn about Nepal including:

*Adventure, trekking, hiking, paragliding, rafting
*Spiritual retreats, monasteries, temples, shrines
*Luxurious honeymoons and exotic destination weddings
*Safaris, wildlife: elephants, tigers, rhinoceros
*Nepal is a world-class, culturally rich, bucket list destination

Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board noted "It is important to visit a country like Nepal, to put it on your itineraries, to encourage people to go see for themselves and comprehend the grandeur of nature in the Himalayas through to the depth of the ancient Shangrila culture still thriving in its shadows. Nepal truly is in a league of its own."
