Online Entries Accepted Through June 23rd in Eight Categories at ArtWalksAmerica on Facebook; Winners to Be Announced at Time of Launch of Art Walk America App Ahead of 4th of July.
WASHINGTON, June 2, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ –Online submissions in eight categories will be accepted on Facebook today through June 23, 2016 as part of the 2016 Art Walk America (AWA) Contest. Winners will be announced on June 28th at the time of the launch of the Art Walk America app, which is designed to meet the needs and enrich the experiences of the 25 million Americans who attend thousands of art walks, gallery openings, and other art events every year. AWA is a product of its parent company, MOV!
The 2016 Art Walk America Contest will accept one or more submissions from artists aged 13 and older in the following categories: oil painting; watercolor painting; acrylic painting; mixed media; sculpture; photography; fashion design; and graphic design. Awards will be made as follows: grand prize winner for the entire contest; a winner in each of the eight categories; and five honorable mentions per category.
Submissions may be made on the contest Facebook page as well as by using the #ArtwalkAmerica hashtag at Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest.
There is no cost to compete in the 2016 AWA Contest. Prizes will be as follows: featured status at an art walk or gallery for the grand prize winner; one-month featured status on the AWA Web site for the eight category winners; and a free copy of the paid-version of the America Art Walk app for the honorable mentions. Live voting will take place on the 2016 AWA Contest Facebook site by artists who submit their work as well as members of the general public.
