The journey to and from this year’s ibtm world in Barcelona is going to be as fast as the event’s high-speed Internet access with the opening of the onsite Metro Station at the Fira Gran Via.

Opened earlier this year, the L9 Metro Line will deliver attendees from the airport in just 19 minutes directly into the Fira Gran Via exhibition centre and this year’s ibtm world. It will also provide a quick link with one change, directly from the venue to the city, connecting participants to and from their hotels and the airport.

The route will go directly to Terminal 1 at Barcelona International Airport, interconnecting with all other terminals and trains will run approximately every 7 minutes.

Graeme Barnett, Senior Exhibition Director, ibtm world comments, “Continually improving our customer’s experience has and will always be a priority. Whether it’s through fast and effective Wi-Fi connectivity in the venue or the journey in and around the city through new transport networks, our aims are to deliver the very best experience possible.”

The Fira Gran Via, which is also home to Mobile World Congress, the world’s largest gathering for the mobile industry is also gearing up to deliver seamless connectivity across the show floor at this year’s event.

Ruben Dalmau, Expansion-Sales Director at Fira Barcelona comments, “Fira de Barcelona, as a key partner of ibtm world, plays a significant role in creating the right environment for participants to work effectively at the show. The fact that we host the annual Mobile World Congress means the infrastructure within the halls at Fira Gran Via is equipped with the most advanced installations that deliver up to 10GB to anywhere in the venue along with a state of the art network of wireless antennae integrated into the cable network which provides more than sufficient coverage and technology needs for any type of event.

“We are always looking to improve the customer experience, not just in terms of connectivity but also catering and other essential services so that attendees and participants at ibtm world can concentrate on doing business in a modern, well equipped and suitable environment.”
