The Vanilla Islands are working to increase the number of cruises in the Indian Ocean. In September 2015, we announced the first contacts with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, which led to a familiarisation trip in January 2016.

Yesterday, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines launched its first-ever โ€˜Islands of the Indian Oceanโ€™ fly-cruise, on board 880-guest Boudicca. Departing from London or Manchester on 29th November 2017, guests can enjoy an idyllic 15-night paradise holiday, returning to the UK on 14th December 2017. This โ€˜once-in-a-lifetimeโ€™ holiday went on sale on 3rd May 2016 for previous Fred. Olsen guests, and will go on general sale on 7th May 2016.

Nathan Philpot, Sales and Marketing Director for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:

โ€œWe are extremely excited to be launching our first ever fly-cruise to the Indian Ocean region. It is an exquisite part of the world, with some of the very best beaches โ€“ such as Flic en Flac, Anse Lazio and Cote Dโ€™Or โ€“ as well as rainforests, National Parks, extinct volcanoes and beautiful flora and fauna. There will be opportunities to walk with lions, discover giant tortoises, see black lemurs and even go in search of the rare black parrot!โ€

Fred. Olsenโ€™s launch was extremely successful, with a record 700 passengers booking on the trip in one day!

This phenomenal interest highlights the great attraction of the Indian Ocean region, and builds on the partnership established between Fred. Olsen and the Vanilla Islands.
