Big carnivals descend upon Seychelles

This morning it was the turn of the Notting Hill Roadshow carnival team and that of Cologne from Germany to arrive in Seychelles onboard the Emirates flight which landed at 6:39 am.

Since last Saturday, international delegations taking part in the upcoming Carnaval International de Victoria this weekend have been arriving at the Seychelles International Airport.


This morning it was the turn of the Notting Hill Roadshow carnival team and that of Cologne from Germany to arrive in Seychelles onboard the Emirates flight which landed at 6:39 am.

Members of the 3 delegations were met at the airport by the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St.Ange, and the Chief Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Sherin Naiken.

The 42-member delegation from Notting Hill will be taking part in the float parade on April 23, and a few of them will also be heading to Praslin island on April 24 to take part in the carnival performance which will be held at Cote d’Or from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm.

Delegations that have arrived in the country so far include Italy, China, and Mauritius. The Düsseldorf team from Germany will be arriving in the country later during the day while delegations such as Vietnam, Brazil, and Ethiopia will be landing tomorrow.

The members of the Notting Hill delegation have taken part in the five past carnival held in Seychelles. Notting Hill has won the title of best international float for four years, except for 2014 when China took the trophy home.
