BRUSSELS, Belgium – On 25th March 2016, In a joint letter written by Mr. Fulvio Martusciello, Member of European Parliament (MEP) and Mr. Alberto Cirio, Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Brussels wrote a special letter welcoming Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi before latter’s visit to India – EU Summit next week.

The MEPs termed Narendra Modi as a ‘ person of great prominence’ on India’s political landscape. They stated in the letter that European Parliament believes that Mr. Modi can be a major ally of the EU in the global war against terror. EU can learn a lot from Indian experience in fighting Islamic Extremism as India has first hand knowledge in dealing with the issue.

The MEPs further mentioned that EU should engage Indian decision-makers led by Mr. Modi in a proactive dialogue and focus on over lapping interests, including maritime security, terrorism, space and cyber defense.

The MEPs said that it is imperative that EU welcomes Modi with open arms. And at the end they clearly mentioned that we at European Parliament look forward to the visit of Mr. Modi and hope that this will take india-EU talks to a great high.
