Pilot’s gun stolen at Philadelphia International Airport

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA, Philadelphia – A wide-scale search was conducted when an airline pilot reported a gun had been stolen from his bag when he was in the restroom.

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA, Philadelphia – A wide-scale search was conducted when an airline pilot reported a gun had been stolen from his bag when he was in the restroom. Pilots are authorized to carry guns in their bags.

The incident occurred at Philadelphia International Airport in Terminal B at approximately 9 am after the pilot had passed through the security checkpoint.

An airport janitor was the only person seen going into and out of the restroom at the time the pilot was in there.

The police arrested the suspected janitor for theft after finding the gun in the janitorial supply closet. The janitor was the only person at that time that had a key to the closet.

The janitor is facing charges for theft and receiving stolen property, as well as other charges.
