Seychelles is heading to the ITB Tourism Trade Fair with Tourism Minister St.Ange, Tourism Board CEO Sherin Naiken, and a large delegation of the island’s private sector.
Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, is on his way to Berlin in Germany for the 2016 edition of the ITB Tourism Trade Fair. The Tourism Minister is being accompanied by Sherin Naiken, the CEO of the Tourism Board, and a large delegation of the Seychelles private sector trade.
In Berlin, the Seychelles delegation will also be joined by Edith Hunzinger, the Seychelles Tourism Board’s Manager based in Germany, and Bernadette Willemin, the Director for Europe for the Seychelles Tourism Board.
Germany remains one of the main source tourism markets for Seychelles, and Europe as a whole continues to be curtail for Seychelles tourism. This year, the German airline is planning to introduce its second weekly flight between Frankfurt and Seychelles which will again help consolidate arrival numbers from Germany.
“We are going to Berlin with an upbeat mood. Germany remains a market that knows us, that enjoys Seychelles as their holiday destination, and that remains ready to work with us. This year at the 2016 edition of our annual April Carnaval International de Victoria, Germany is sending two carnival delegations. For the first time, both Dusseldorf and Koln Carnivals will be parading in the streets of Victoria with their German flags. This will continue to help raise the awareness of Seychelles in Germany as both German delegations will be followed by an armada of German press. But in Berlin, we are also meeting with CONDOR, to be updated on the arrival of their second weekly flight as from September and also meet key German tour operators to ensure we continue to claim our fair share of that market and also of the bigger European tourism market,” said Minister Alain St.Ange as he was preparing to fly to Berlin.
“We are happy to see so many of our private sector trade standing with us as we go out to increase the visibility of our islands,” said Minister St.Ange.
