On Tuesday March 8, at 7 a.m. EST, Teamster mechanics with United Airlines will picket to warn United shareholders and investors of a potential strike at the airline.

Teamster mechanics from airports across the country, including Newark, LaGuardia, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, and others, will join the picket at JP Morgan headquarters.

The mechanics will be bringing attention to their fight for a fair contract. On Feb. 16, over 93 percent of the mechanics voted to reject United’s substandard contract proposal, and also voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike. The Teamsters Union is petitioning the National Mediation Board for a release that would allow the mechanics to begin a strike. There are over 9,000 Teamster mechanics at United nationwide.
