Iran Sets a High Standard for Dialogue and Understanding

The First Annual Iran Tour Operators Congress (ITOC) concluded in Tehran and has been unilaterally deemed a huge success by all participants. Representatives from over 40 countries attended from all parts of the world including: France, Russia, United States, Canada, Argentina, and England to name a few.

Vice President Esfandyar Mashay was the keynote speaker on the opening day of the Conference with an informative and passionate speech where he stressed Iran’s historic standing and its peaceful past, present and future.

Vice President Mashay offered insight on Iran‚Äôs desire to use its growing Tourism Destination Industry as a bridge to create dialogue and understanding among nations peoples. VP Mashay pointed out that through cultural, historical and religious understanding, countries could bridge gaps and create ‚Äúpeace and understanding‚ÄĚ.

Vice President Mashay went on to say: ‚ÄúIranians have been living side by side in friendship and corporation and flying the white flag of peace with other lands religions and peoples‚ÄĚ. He stressed that Tour Operators undertake a huge responsibility of bringing people together and bridging the gap of misunderstanding through travel and tourism.

Deputy for Tourism Dr. M. Malekzadeh also spoke on the opening day of the conference and pointed out Iran’s four seasons for travel and its ability to embrace cultural, eco, sports, and leisure tourism because of Iran’s vast array of climates and furthered by the friendship and warmth of the Iranian People.

November 24the marked the beginning of the 4-day whirlwind tour of Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, and Kish Island where Tour Operators from around the world were given VIP treatment and educated on what Iran has to offer the World Tourism Industry.

Both the Government of Iran and the business community of Iran have a genuine and sincere desire to bring visitors from all over the world. Iran has much to offer both as a cultural, eco and sports destination. Through the efforts of the Iran Tour Operators Congress, Iranian Government and most importantly through the kindness and warmth of the Iranian People, Iran is poised to grow its tourism industry and make an example for other countries of good government functioning effectively.
