BERLIN, Germany – Since launching more than 22 years ago, Design Hotels has continually strived to grow its brand and portfolio of unique, independently owned and operated hotels in the smartest and most effective way possible. In November 2015, Design Hotels joined forces with Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG), enabling its member hotels to have both a greater and more selective reach while at the same time offering its Community the benefits of the industry’s leading loyalty program. For SPG members, this partnership means access to original experiences in one-of-a-kind hotels around the world, and new destinations to choose from. Since November 2015, 32 of over 290 Design Hotels™ member hotels have joined SPG, producing over 2,500 bookings. The coming weeks will see more than 30 additional hotels in the SPG pipeline go live, with many more set to join.
As of March 1, 2016, the second phase of the partnership between Design Hotels and SPG kicks-off, allowing SPG members to not only earn Starpoints on every stay, but to also redeem them at participating Design Hotels member hotels.
Recognition and Value
Design Hotels has long been in the business of creating lasting memories, and this expanded partnership with the industry’s most powerful loyalty program has made making these memories more rewarding.
“We are thrilled to bring SPG members expanded access to design-led hotels, created by true Originals in sought-after destinations,” says Chris Holdren, Senior Vice President of Distribution, Loyalty and Partnership, Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
“Our expanded relationship with Design Hotels continues to raise the stakes in loyalty, boosting exposure for Design Hotels across Starwood’s industry-leading distribution and loyalty platforms, while introducing a new set of global travelers to SPG’s award-winning program.”
“Our partnership with SPG offers tremendous advantages on all levels and strengthens what’s at the heart of everything we do; creating long-term value for our Community and our member hotels. It’s exciting to see these impressive results only three months after our first member hotels went live,” says Claus Sendlinger, founder and CEO of Design Hotels.
