MIAMI, FL – Panama City Beach is the most popular spring break destination for US students, according to the latest survey. The survey established the 20 most popular locations based on queries conducted by spring breakers on the Google search engine.

Specifically, the survey used Googleโ€™s โ€œKeyword Planner Toolโ€ to determine how often โ€œspring breakโ€ was typed in into the search engine in combination with a certain destination. The 2016 data obviously not yet being available, those searches conducted during February and March 2015 were considered as the establishment benchmark for the rankings.

So, for example, โ€œLas Vegas Spring Breakโ€ was typed in 2200 times by people based in the United States during that timeframe. Closely related searches were also considered, such as “Spring Break Las Vegas,โ€ โ€œVegas Spring Breakโ€ or โ€œLas Vegas Spring Break 2015.โ€ In total, Las Vegas resulted in 13,000 queries related to spring break, thus ranking Sin City as the ninth most popular destination overall.

With a total of 224,000 queries, Panama City Beach is by far the most popular destination for spring breakers.
Runners-up on the survey include South Padre Island, Texas and Lake Havasu, Arizona. Total searches of 64,000 and 49,000, respectively, put these destinations in the number two and three slots.

Cancun is the most popular foreign destination. With a total of 33,000 searches it ranks fourth most popular overall.

The following table lists the Top 10 most popular spring break destinations for Americans based on the number of related queries conducted on the Google search engine. The February and March 2015 timeframe served as the basis for establishing the rankings.
