After a long 24-hour trip to Istanbul, it was a 50-euro taxi fare to get to the Tuyap Palas Hotel in Istanbul.

The hotel is adjacent to the Tuyap Exhibition area and was ideal to attend the EMITT exhibition. When I checked in, I got a Turkish coffee in the lobby bar, and it was excellent, bringing life into me again.

The room was small and average, but clean and comfortable. Donโ€™t expect a plush heavenly bed, but sleeping on it was just fine. The complimentary Internet in the room was fast, and 3 plug-ins made it easy to connect.

There were no views, and the hotel is far from the regular tourism sites of this city on the Bosporus channel. It took an hourโ€™s drive to get from the Tuyap Palas to Thaksin Square, so I was glad to have stayed here instead of taking transportation all the way back to the exhibition in the morning.

The morning breakfast buffet was good and had a collection of European and Turkish food items. The staff was nice and attentive, and it was great to just walk indoors into the convention halls.

I enjoyed the spacious indoor swimming pool and recreation area.

The $110 room rate during a major trade show was quite reasonable.

For all these reasons, I would stay here again when attending an exhibition at the Tuyap Convention Center.
