Bangkok: On the road to recovery, in one hotel at least

Chaophya Park Hotel was one of the most vocal and proactive hotel establishments during the recent airport take-over crisis in Bangkok, Thailand.

Immediately after the airports were re-opened, the hotel met with Barbara Morf from the Bangkok hotels‚Äôs European representative, Swiss Sales. The aim of the meeting was ‚Äúto discuss a Thailand marketing recovery plan and to ensure that just the right ingredients are added for success,‚ÄĚ according to hotel manager Andrew Wood.

Mr. Wood added, "Business is steady improving, arrivals are increasing by approximately 12-15 percent per week since the Bangkok airports re-opened."

He added: "We are already at 70 percent occupancy and for a few days next week we break through 80 percent. We are smiling once again and Chaophya Park Hotels & Resorts, after an intense marketing campaign to its worldwide business partners, to promote Thailand's recovery."

Mr. Wood said his hotel is “looking forward to a better new Year 2009, than we were just a month ago."
