Brussels Holiday Fair a resounding success for Seychelles tourism

As per past editions, the Holiday Fair in Brussels was a great success and has even been described as better than the previous year. And Seychelles tourism was there representing all the country has to offer.

The Seychelles Tourism Board and its partners participated once again this year in another edition of the Holiday Fair (Salon de Vacances) which took place during a period of five days, from February 4-8 at the Brussels Expo fair ground.

The weekend was, of course, the most crowded and busiest days with the Belgians coming out in full force looking for their next holiday destination.

The three Seychelles partners attending the fair were Masons Travel, represented by Lucy Jean-Louis; Les Laurier Eco Hรดtel & Restaurant, represented by Sybille Cardon; and Hotel Coco de Mer & Black Parrot suites, represented by Ash Behari.

Christine Vel from the Seychelles Tourism Board Office in Paris described the turnout at the fair as very good and added that a lot of clients stopping by had already gone through the first steps of booking their flights and accommodation to Seychelles and now needed more information such as what to expect in terms of sightseeing and tours, and also what other activities are available.

โ€œWe had also a good number of honeymooners who had either chosen or were still deciding on a destination, who came around and were pleasantly surprised to hear about the fact that Seychelles does not only have hotels on the main islands but also the choice of island resorts which appeal to them greatly,โ€ Ms. Vel explained.

She also added that on the Monday, which is the last and usually least quiet day, this year was quite busy. This can also be explained as it was the start of the winter holidays in Belgium.

Seychelles is a founding member of the International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP) .
