Feb 15, 2016

NOVOSIBIRSK, Russia - In late January a group of 20 children accompanied by two adults traveled from Omsk to Primorsky Krai to children's center Ocean via Novosibirsk for rest. Group arrived to Novosibirsk airport by train operated by Federal Passenger Company on the route Moscow - Novokuznetsk.

From the Ob railway station, located in the immediate vicinity of the airport Tolmachevo, a group was transported to the airport complex on a comfortable bus provided by Ob Transportation Company.

The group then departed to Vladivostok on S7 Airlines flight. Tolmachevo Airport provided organizational support for the trip.

The combination of rail, bus and air service has allowed avoiding long flights as well as transfer via Moscow and has reduced the cost of the trip. In addition, such a scheme has simplified the approval of the route with the traffic police, which is required when transporting groups children. Accompanying adults noted that the return trip will be organized by the same route because it provides a higher level of comfort and safety.

Combined transportation project is being implemented by NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport and West-Siberian branch of the Federal Passenger Company, with the support of the West-Siberian Railways – a subsidiary of Russian Railways.

Developing the route network, NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport together with partners-airlines forms the aviation hub on the major routes between Europe, Asia and the Far East. By implementing the project on transport accessibility of the airport for residents of the Siberian regions and the concept of transfer transportation development, Tolmachevo airport cooperates with Russian Railways in terms of creating a joint product - combined transport services on the principle of «Rail & Fly». As a result - the railway becomes a convenient way for passengers from Kemerovo, Tomsk, Omsk, Krasnoyarsk and Altai regions to get to the airport.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity of domestic terminal makes up to 1,800 passengers per hour, while the international terminal capacity – up to 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways of ICAO I and II Categories.
