The Uganda Tourism Board will be exhibiting this year as the ITB Berlin expo marks 50 years. Uganda Tourism Board CEO Stephen Asiimwe encouraged the tour operators to take advantage of one of the largest expos to do business.

At least 18 Ugandan tour and travel companies will be exhibiting at the ITB Berlin 2016 exhibition from March 9-13.

“ITB gives you great opportunity to expand your business,” Asiimwe said while meeting operators at the UTB offices in Kampala, Uganda. The meeting was to harmonize plans and update the businesses on what to expect at expo.

Uganda will be exhibiting under the theme “Gorillas and so much more.” With over 50% of the world’s mountain gorillas, Uganda is a prime destination for those interested in primates.

However, there is much more including 11% of the world’s bird species; the source of the world’s longest river, the Nile; Africa’s highest mountain range- Mt. Rwenzori; the world’s largest tropical water body, Lake Victoria and a bountiful wildlife in the parks.

Uganda will be in Hall 21.a Booth 119. On March 11, Uganda will hold the Tripartite Cultural Fete from 1900 hours-2000 hours. This will be in partnership with the other East African nations.

In the last ITB Berlin exhibition, Uganda took 5th place.
