Croatia is the rising star of the travel scene, breaking all records in 2015.

Croatia is the rising star of the travel scene, breaking all records in 2015. In 2016, the prediction is that a new tourism specialty will gain popularity in this destination, which is one of the best regions for wine travel. Select Croatia suggests its food and wine portfolio to all travelers interested in experiencing Croatia’s finest wines, with wine tour packages to top wine producers in Istria, Slavonia, and Dalmatia.

Bordering on Slovenia and Northern Italy, Istria is a well-known Croatian wine region that can fulfill the expectations of any traveler who wishes to explore and taste the most famous Croatian wine: Istrian Malvasia. On the opposite side of Croatia, on the Hungarian and Serbian border, along the mighty Danube river, Slavonia is most famous for Gewรผrztraminer (“traminac”), which does very well in the far-eastern corners of Croatia.

However, the most attractive wine itineraries are in Dalmatia, since they combine two of Croatia’s most popular features: the Adriatic Coast and great wines.

Select Croatia presents one tour in each region:

โ€ข Wine Tasting at the Picturesque Kozlovic Winery โ€” an introduction to the world of Istrian vineyards and cellars;

โ€ข Sensational Slavonia: Danube Kingdom of Food, Wine and Antiques โ€” visit the oldest wine cellars in this part of Europe: Ilocki Podrumi, pioneers of winemaking since the fifteenth century;

โ€ข Sail & Taste: Peljesac Coastal Wine Rapsody โ€” a boat excursion from Dubrovnik along the Peljesac peninsula coastline, paired with two of the most famous vineyards.

“When it comes to designing wine tours, one of our main goals is to combine great wines with other ‘must-see’ attractions in order to connect sightseeing and tasting, allowing our clients to experience more in less time,” says Maja Gudelj, Director of Croatia and Mediterranean Yacht Charters.
