Police are investigating after a Scandinavian Airlines plane on route from London to Stockholm was redirected to Landvetter airport near Gothenburg after receiving a bomb threat.

Police are investigating after a Scandinavian Airlines plane on route from London to Stockholm was redirected to Landvetter airport near Gothenburg after receiving a bomb threat.

The plane landed in Gothenburg, Sweden at 09.57 and is standing at a designated spot at Landvetter airport.

70 passengers aboard this Star Alliance member airline were evacuated, the plane was parked far from the terminal while police and emergency crews arrived at 10.30.

No planes were initially allowed to take off or land while passengers and crew were leaving the aircraft, but by 11.30am the airport had reopened for traffic.
