Canadian travelers, that is. To achieve this goal, Texas Tourism has launched its very first Canadian travel trade Web site.

Aiming to lure more Canadian travelers to the Lone Star State, Texas Tourism has launched the site to serve as an information tool for the travel industry to help better plan vacations to Texas.

According to Baxter Press, the new site features up-to-date information from Texas destinations, links to cities, tour operator partners and airline services from Canada.

An additional feature of the site is aimed at testing travel trade professionals’ knowledge about with "Texas U," an interactive game filled with a series of questions about the Lone Star State. If one receives s score of 80 percent or higher score, he or she will be rewarded with an official “Texas Travel Professional Certificate.”

The site is also geared at meeting the needs of the MICE industry planner. The Texas Web site for Canadian travel trade professionals will help make site selections simpler with various options of where to hold your corporate meeting or convention or incentive program.

And if you are quick, you may find yourself in Austin, the state’s capital. Texas Tourism is offering, for a limited time, visitors to the site an opportunity to win a trip to Austin, including air, four nights stay, a sightseeing tour and tickets to the Blanton Museum of Art.

www.texastraveltrade.ca is the site address.
